Hi there, I am finishing my garage ceiling, and my only concern is that there are no joists on either end of the garage.
The final joists are behind the final point i need to attach drywall.
Can i just Screw 2x4's to the current joists at the end to extend them to hang the drywall from? or do i have to completely build joists?
Also on the end closest to the house, they finished it to the peak of the ceiling, and thus there is drywall attached to a joist sticking 2 inches out, but i cant screw drywall to the drywall, and im concerned if i rip the old 2" strip of drywall out, i will weaken maybe drywall on the other side of the wall? this seems silly now that i type it. What do you guys recommend?
