Here is a video from a guy who calls himself the Drywall Doctor. He rarely fills corner gaps unless they are a bit large, but he always fills seams with Durabond. He explains why in this video. Check out his other videos as well:I have some gaps on some inside corners.
One was bc of an out of true wall. The other because I was working tired and screwed up the measurement.
Should I cut new pieces to fit or should I fill with setting compound? I read that stuff dries hard and is less susceptible to cracks than mud.
The gaps are 1/4” along the length of 8’.
The 2nd gap is 7/16” fading to nothing across maybe 2’.

If I were doing this, I would fill in the wider gaps in your corners with Durabond as well as the seams before taping. I would use Straight Flex for the corners, makes taping corners easy peasy!
