Gangway for boat dock

I want to make a gangway and I want to know what would be the best material to use. Would it be wood or use aluminum studs. Plus what kind of wood would I use? The gangway would be 12 feet long x 32 inches wide.

The gangway will be on land (cement steps) and attached to a floating dock. It is on a lake.
