Doing a little room in a block basement, nothing fancy. Using 1" x 2" furring strips screwed vertically to the wall every 2'.

Is this enough for 1/2" drywall, or should I also run some strips horizontally? If so: top, bottom, middle????

TIA.

Should be building a real wall out of 2 X 4's so insulation, wiring, vapor barrier can be used.
Without it your going to get mold growing behind the wall.
