The video I have here shows my furnace trying to fire but does not. The odd part is that it continues to run and blows cold air into my house. It doesn’t shut off and blink any codes to go by. I did take the flame sensor out and cleaned it with a dollar bill. Maybe I will try again to clean it better, but I’m not sure if that is it or not. It does this intermittently though, so most of the time it does light and the heat works. I’m just not sure what to check at this point. Hopefully someone can give me some tips if they recognize what the issue may be.

Need some sort of information on what the unit is doing, or isn’t doing. Manufacturer and model number as well.
When it fails to fire, at what step during the ignition process does the unit fail?

Yea sorry, the video is uploading and you will see more then. But it is a weather king 90RJ or 90TJ. That is what the front of the manual says. Basically it does everything up to the HSI turning on and tries to light, as in I can hear the valve and see the blue flames kick off and on a few times then the HSI turns off and the blower starts, but the flame does not stay lit.

When was the last time the furnace was cleaned and had a maintenance done?
Almost sounds like rollout from your description.

The last date on the tag mentions replacing the inducer in 2013. I suppose it is due for a cleaning anyhow in that case. But that doesn’t solve my problem for the time being.

Could be the inducer, or a problem with the venting. Looks like a pressure switch may be opening and closing.

Thanks I’ll look into those. Is it not odd that it isn’t just shutting down and throwing a code, since it should be sensing that there is no flame staying on?

May be cycling the pressure switch so fast, it’s not retaining an error to show.
Check the hoses, venting, and pressure switch. And test draft with a manometer.

suggestion. clean all the connection to the flame rod, since the flame rod picks up the milliamps voltage created from the flame, to determine if the flame is present. since the voltage is so low, a bad connection will terminate the signal, or cause the signal to be inconsistent, thus causing the problems you have described. a good connection to grounding is equally important. do not clean the flame rod with anything abrasive. or it will damage the coating on the rod.
depending on the settings of the DIP switches, the flame may or may not try to restart. a flame failure should cause the furnace to shut down. but your DIP switches setting will allow the furnace to run without an active flame. the blower should do a post purge before the unit turns off completely. this of course is provided the wiring is all correct.
