Hi. Hoping for your good advice.
Doing a basement renovation in a late 70's house in northern Canada. I've built a subfloor of 5/8 T&G OSB over 1" rigid styrofoam everywhere but where the furnace and hot water heater sit.
Of course layout plans changed. Now I'm being asked by my better half to move the furnace and hot water heater to a place that makes a lot of sense, and would work out well, but already has the subfloor tapconned down. And the concrete floor underneath is very out of level.
My question: Can I put them on top of the subfloor, or should I pull it out and level the concrete floor, then install the furnace and hot water heater on the concrete?
