Im going to attempt to install new drywall in my new laundry room. Was a wet bar.

I will probably be posting noob questions.

2 of the walls in room are only 45" x 8'.
Can i install full sheets cut to fit on these walls? Vertical
It looks like most of the videos show drywall full sheets being hung horizatal on longer walls.

Thank you

Generally, we think horizontal....tucking the first sheet up tight against the ceiling is a lot easier on later tapeing at normal height....but there are instances where you can minimize total joints/taping with a vertical install.

Your call and convenience.....

Yes you can. Where a full sheet doesn’t cover a wall, it usually goes on horizontally. The seam is easier to finish so that it is less noticeable than a vertical joint.

Just keep in mind that edges of drywall are tapered. Each tapered edge is about 3" wide. If you cut 3" off one side, you will lose the taper on that side, but it will still be on the other. No big deal, especially in corners. It will feel different when taping though, no big deal.
