My front exterior door is made of wood. It is time for a new coat of paint, I would like to leave the door on, the door is white, and I want to stay with white. Any tips and what paint should I buy... I.E semi gloss, satin, exterior for a front door. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps a light scuff sanding, wipe down to remove dust and any chalk, let dry and apply a coat of your favorite white paint. I like a nice, hard finish for doors........a semi or high gloss works well. Sherwin Williams makes an all-surface enamel or you could use SuperPaint Semi-Gloss.

Wood doors need to be sealed on all sides.
If not the rails will expand and contract enough to crack the center panels.
Once the paint sets up you need to rap with the side of your hand on the panels to break the paint bond, or once agin it can crack the panels.
The panels need to be able to float.
