from what I can gather, your problem is the compressor will not start when it is supposed to (the constant clicking)? So your freezer temps are getting way to warm? If this is the case and you already replaced the start relay, your problem is with the compressor itself. It will need to be changed out. Your on borrowed time, you will either have to replace the fridge or the compressor soon.
Frigidaire upright cooling issues
About three weeks ago the fan in our freezer started running continuously. The compressor would click on intermittently. There was a noticeable click coming from the compressor area. Unplugging and letting the compressor cool down would remedy the problem for approximately a day. I ordered a new starter from a repair site, after researching that this happens to be a big problem on the fridge model that I have. Replaced the starter and the clicking continues.
After researching some more I pulled the back plate out of the freezer and there was quite a bit of ice build up on the coils. I forced the defrost timer into defrost mode and the heater element heated up right away and melted the ice. The defrost cycle completed and the compressor turned right back on. I then assumed that the defrost timer had failed so I replaced it. It seemed to fix the problem for several days, but now the fridge is doing the same thing it was doing from the get go.
It starts clicking incessantly and doesn't work correctly again until I unplug the unit and let it sit for a while. Putting an ice pack on top of the compressor seems to speed this process up, though that could just be a placebo effect on my end.
I am at my wits end with this thing and ready to replace it, but hate to do so if I have missed something with the troubleshooting. Someone mentioned that there might be something wrong with the starter's capacitor, but it seems like that would just be a stop working all at once type of issue. The compressor runs cold and consistently until the clicking starts. There obviously has to be something wrong with the compressor for this to be happening am I wrong?

I figured as much. The compressor is getting exceptionally hot. After it runs through the defrost it starts back up, but I assume it is just cooling down enough to do so.from what I can gather, your problem is the compressor will not start when it is supposed to (the constant clicking)? Bummer, the thing is only 3 years old. Guess I will be fridge shopping after work!
