Have a Frigidaire about 5 years old, not sure of the model number. I noticed a few days ago that a can of pop I opened had slushy ice in it. Then yesterday one of the cans literally exploded, and the contents were solid ice. I checked and every can of pop seemed to be frozen solid. So today I bought a thermometer and put it in the fridge on the top shelf. It went to like 20 degrees. I had the fridge side set on a reading of 5. Factory setting is 3. I set it on 5 last summer and it's been there since then. I moved the setting back to 3 and it's still below freezing. Now it's reading about 30 degrees.

One thing I noticed is that it's constantly blowing cold air into it. It doesn't seem to ever cut off. The compressor used to shut on and off so loudly you could hear it pop. I can't hear that popping noise anymore. Any ideas what the problem is, or how to fix it? Thanks

most likely that control you are turning needs to be replaced

that unit has a motorized damper, your going to have to pull the cover off the damper and see if it is open, closed, or some where in between. if your refrig is 20 degrees it should be closed all the way
