We have lived in our home for 2.5 years and everything has worked fine until this morning. For the last 2 weeks our A/C has been freezing up when used. This morning the Fridge, Microwave A/c and half the lights on one side of our house were not working but no breaker was tripped. now the some of the lights come on dimly and blink on and off. The ventilation fans in hall and bathroom sound as if they are going to come on but they don't get enough power to run. Same thing with the A/C, when we turn it on it sounds like the motor is trying to run but not enough power. Washer and dryer also don't work but the other side of the house is fine. please help

Lights not working and power on and off

We have been having the same problems, our fridge somes on the lights in kitchen start to fail, microwave wants to run but starts and then slows to 1/4 power, when blower on furnace runs it runs at half power. I can the food processer to day and kitchen lights blinked. We have been her 15 years, updated to a breaker box after we bought the house, none of the breakers are overloaded. None have tripped, we have surge protecters at every out let if more than one item is using it. We had new power line installed from the power company to house at same time as breaker box. Two years ago power company installed new lines from their transformer to our house because of break in line, and installed a bigger transformer.
We don't know what could be the problem. Any Ideas.. We hate to have whole house rewired if not necessary.

Do some lights get brighter and some dimmer?
If so, then you have a loose neutral.
You need to call the power company back out and have them check your power again.
The problen could be a lose neutral in the panel box.

Yes some of the lights do dim and then get brighter, the microwave works at one outlet in the kitchen that has nothing else in its breaker. All the problems seem to happen if the fridge is running at the same time. Fridge comes on, microwave slows operation, lights dim, blower on furnace won't run. The range, washer and dryer are on separate circuits and work just fine. The television, dvr, computer do not seem to be affected at all.

Light getting brighter are classic symptom of loose neutral.
Call the POCO ASAP. This can cause serious damage to your electronics. The brighter lights are because the voltage is going up.
