We installed some french drains down the side of my sons house. There are approximately 4. 3 are flat grates at ground level. When it rains, yes we bag clippings, these grates get covered with leaves.

What can I cover these with that will allow water flow and not clog?

Ayuh,.... You'll need some sorta domed grates, that fit what ever brand of trench drain ya put in,.....

Thanks, I have one of those on the very last one, since its close to the fence and out of the walking way. Was thinking some sort of rocks on top of the others.
