I would like to add French doors to furnished basement. However, I don’t believe there is center beam. Seems the joists all rest on the center wall which of course would be a load bearing wall. Can I still get away with installing French doors without compromising support?

You'll have to add the appropriate extra framing around the doors and header above the doors.

You will need to cut a hole in the ceiling above the new area and see what you have.

Nobody puts headers in long enough for double the doors.

If it is a bearing wall you will find one like one of these.

On the left a normal header with a dropped ceiling

Or on the right a header with hangers but in the floor joist.

If the opening removes load bearing members you have to replace them with another system to carry the load.
