my ice maker is working fine, and when you press the button on the fridge door it makes a motor-inducing noise, but no ice will drop out of the freezer door. is the motor bad and/or is there something i can do to fix it? do i need to replace something? thank you.

sounds like you probably have a bunch of cubes jamming the auger. take the bin out, empty it and see what happens then.

no, it's the thing that spins the metal rod inside of the bin. if you take the ice tray out there is a spindle like thing on the back of the freezer, it should be spinning when you press the button. but it does not. is that the motor? can i replace it easily? where do i find one? there is noise when you press it, so not sure what isn't working exactly.

that would be your drive motor, before you replace it take a hair dryer to it for a few minutes, sometimes they just gt ice in them and freeze up.
