I think the stucco guy can work with anything you give him. Have you looked into styrofoam buildouts? I think that they only work with acrylic stucco though.
Framing stucco details
Anyone have any insight on how to frame some columns to be covered with stucco? I've attached a pictyre to explain.. I was thinking 2x10 for the bottom of the column and then some plywood for the tall part going to the top of the column.. or maybe double 2x10 for the bottom/top and 1 2x10 for the tall part? to add some mroe width
