I am bidding to be the contractor for the framing ofa 7000 sf ft home in Pgh. PA. How do I calculate the cost?
 7000 sf and you're asking a DIY Forum????
Really?
1st time?
Change in area location?
New to the business?

Like Kwik said...spreadsheet.

Start from the bottom and work your way up. Build it in your mind and put it on paper.

Associate a time allotment for each and every step of each and every day until the thing is finished, detailed, and signed off as complete.
Multiply the time by your labor rate that includes O&P (overhead & profit)

The lumber yard will quote the materials. then add a % markup and contingency.
