To really know you'd have to find what (if anything) is on the other end

Installed hundreds of intercoms and the only times I put a station in a bath, it was more spa than bath. Only remember one "single-pair intercom" and I don't think they lasted long. It almost looks like lamp cord and I can't imagine anybody using that for an audio system. Maybe check each side for markings and post back.

Best thing to do is try and trace where it goes. Check it for voltage and hopefully it is not a live 120 volt wire.

Yes, I can see that now that I discovered how to magnify the image. Looks like lampcord. Was a time, people ran such wire for speakers. Check it for voltage and if none, wire-nut the ends and forget about it!
