My forced AC unit started making what I can only describe as a more distinct propeller noise,with a little bit of metallic clanging noise yesterday(it used to be silky smooth). I popped the top to see if the fan blade was loose of if there was an obstruction and neither seemed to be the case. Any ideas?

The unit itself works fine. Recent work includes a new capacitor, Freon charge.

free spin it in CW/CCW directions any grinding does the blade turn with a push and not brake hard

No, I didn't see any of that. In fact it will make that loud noise for a while and then revert back to quiet running. Any ideas?
