Hi,
You guys were helping me with a dripping bathroom faucet. I turned "only" the hot water valve off last night and have been using the cold water as it was the hot water that was dripping.

I just noticed the bottom of the cabinet in the sink is soaked with water? Why is this? I cannot detect where the water is coming from?

Look around the stem of the shut off valve. May need to snug up the packng nut.

could be the shutoff is leaking a bit. they sometimes do that when they havent been turned for a while. try shutting it off and on a time or two and see if it stops. And occasionally just by tightening the nut holding the shutoff stem by just a little bit will also stop it. If not, it's time for a new shutoff.(that is if the shutoff it what's leaking, but it's a good place to start looking.)

There was a lot of water and the kicker is the dripping stopped. So it must be intermittent - hence the stain in the sink. I'm not sure how a minor leak at the valve could have leaked that much water in less than 24 hours.
