Probably simple, but better safe than sorry. I am replacing three ceiling fixtures. 2 of the old ones were 2 bulb fixtures with one white, one black and a ground. Those were easy changing to the new 2 bulb fixture.
The third one is currently a 3 bulb fixture, in the box in the ceiling there are 3 white wires which were all wire nutted together to the three white wires from the old fixture, same with black - 3 to 3. Also one ground wire.
The new fixture is a 2 bulb fixture with 2 white, 2 black and one ground. Do I connect all three whites from the ceiling to the 2 whites on the new fixture? Same with the 3 blacks? Or do I cap of one of the whites and blacks from the ceiling and only connect 2 whites to 2 whites and 2 blacks to 2 blacks? Thanks in advance.
