flood lights motion sensors

Installed a motion sensor on flood lights and it worked perfect for 4 years , now the flood lights stay on and do not cycle on & off when activated by motion at night, I live in Arizona , do they go bad from the heat ?

Ayuh,....... I used to have motion lights at the old house, 'n never got more than a couple of years outa the sensors,.....
