Installed a motion sensor on flood lights and it worked perfect for 4 years , now the flood lights stay on and do not cycle on & off when activated by motion at night, I live in Arizona , do they go bad from the heat ?

They, like us, go bad due to age. It is not incomprehensible to think the motion detector has gone south. Replacing it with a new one would be fairly easy. Let us know, via pictures, if you need any help.

Typically you can buy a new fixture cheaper than buying the replacement sensor.
