Hi, I recently have 3 lights on the same circuit breaker started to flickers. I have changed out 3 light fixtures, a dimmer wall switch and multiple dimmable light bulbs in the room that flickers the most. I am getting very frustrated, any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Are these 3 lights the only ones on that circuit breaker or are there other lights on that circuit breaker that do not flicker.

These are the only 3 lights on the circuit breaker which consists of
1.) one dimmable ceiling light on dimmer switch
2.) one non-dimmable ceiling light on regular switch
3.) 6 dimmable recessed lights on dimmer switch.


The first one flickers the most, follow by the second then the 3rd. Works fine before, now it is getting worst. Thanks

Are any of the lamps LED or CFL. If so then the lamps must be rated for dimmers and the dimmers must be rated for LED or CFL as appropriate.

I read all lights are dimmable as long as I use dimmable bulbs on light controlled by dimmer switch.
I have a ceiling light not on dimmer switch but on same circuit breaker that is flickering as well

Are they in an enclosed fixture? LED lamps must be rated for use in an enclosed fixture or they will flicker.

No it’s not. That light fixture with the same bulb was moved from one room to another and wasn’t flickering prior to moving.

Replace the dimmer switch with a different brand, then start replacing lights until you find the culprit.

Yes - and any loose connection between it and the first lamp/switch.

Have you tried installing an incandescent globe in place of one of the LEDs?

Yes I have tried incandescent bulb and still flickers. I will check connection in the breaker box and tighten it if loose, if it still doesn’t fix the problem then I will replace the breaker. Funny how the breaker hasn’t tripped. Thanks

Don't forget to check the neutral as well as the hot wire going back to the breaker. I've found more loose neutrals on the bar than loose hots on breaker.



The breaker will only trip if the current heats up an internal mechanisms. If the internal mechanism that is the "switch" part is worn out, the connection won't be steady.
