Made daughters favorite chicken potpie.

1/2 thru baking knew I forgot seasonings. I was so mad at myself.!!! It’s a lot of work cutting up all the vegetables in it. Thyme, basil, rosemary omitted. She suggested taking top crust off and mixing in seasonings. I cut a big circle, almost to edge lifted with spatula the top crust and put it on a dinner plate. Added seasonings, stirred them in an slid top crust back on an finished baking.

Its done and I took a sliver. You’d barely notice. The base is half chicken broth and half Half & Half so its tasty even without seasonings.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s come close to ruining a meal.

You are not. BTW if I forget S&P I don't worry about it. I never notice. I like the no salt canned veggies too. Taste fresher.

You are not alone Senior, When I bake - lately, I make lots of mistakes.
I’m better at cooking cause I usually wing it - rather than following directions

oh well, this mad cows disease is bending my brain.

That's how the wife cooks ( by taste ) and i think that's how she makes refrigerator surprises taste so good. But just to bake cornbread in the cast skillet i must follow the recipe to the T and keep adding notes with a bold print felt tip pen , like pre- heat the skillet. i solved bake time this last batch by setting my phone stop watch. When the oven beeper says it's pre heated in goes the skillet for 22 minuets and 27 seconds.:vs_laugh: The wife just rolled her eyes because she goes by how it's smelling at the opposite end of the house.
