Furnace Fixed?

American Standard Freedom 80

Woke up and house was cold. Thermostat could activate circulation fan. Furnace exhaust fan was running non stop.

Went through reset process (lower therm, shut off power to furn, furn gas valve off, wait 5 min. etc) When I brought it back up, exhaust fan would kick in for about 15 sec. and then stop. Would recycle repeatedly every 45 sec +/- same result.

On a whim I disconnected and reconnected all wire harnesses and connectors. Now furnace is working. Am I good to go, or is there something else I should do to make sure it keeps working?

sounds like the induced draft fan...air proving/differential air switch was not closing so, remove the hose and clean out the orifices at each end then place hose back on switch....suck and blow on and you should hear the switch click..you may have to use a paper clip or similar object to clean out the orifices...easy first step at no cost..IMO, worth doing.

i had the SAME EXACT problem, on the same part. and i have seen it on a lot of electronics. they make the electrical connections so that they corrode over time. the corrosion is unseen. simply unplugging and replugging many times cleans the connection. get some electrical contact cleaner conditioner and use it.
