Hey all.

Room has no lights so I’m installing 4 6” flat LEDs.

I’m curious if I can run these in series or do I need a junction box to divert the line to each fixture?

I haven’t picked a model number yet so no specs to share.

They seem to have their own junction box integrated in each fixture.

Just never worked with these before.

Thanks as always.

Everything that is designed for homes today uses parallel circuits. You do not need a junction box at all. Just use the box where the light will be attached. I have a basement and garage/workshop filled with them. Yes, some do have an attached box, again, no need for a junction box. I did wire mine so that I could turn off any one fixture, while all the others remained on. In case I ever needed to move the fixture, or it just went bad. So a single switch still turns all fixtures on and off at each doorway. But, I can turn any one fixture off if needed.

They are in parallel. Switched supply to1-2-3-4.

It's also called daisy chaining the lights. Run the black/white/ground from one light to the next, to the next, and so on until you run out of lights.

Thanks everyone.

I might end up just putting in a fan with lights--waffling on it.

But, on that note, I have some crown moulding waiting in the wings I had intended for the room. it's not that "crownduit" product, but has anyone used the crown to hide the cut-out from the wall as well as the cut-in into the ceiling to avoid a large couple of holes to drill the top plate?
