I have a boiler that I installed with a two wire thermostat.

I have AN AC unit that's tucked into the eves with little room to see the panel area.

I can see that the 24vac transformer is out from somebody shorting it.

but the problem is the 3 wires going to the thermostat

The Rheem is a RBHA-17A... type
the thermostat is a Honeywell rth2300b type

terminals B,O,G,Y,W, (not used), R, RG

This thermostat and another were hanging around when we bought the place, but not finished.

I have a feeling I should be connecting to Y,W and R, but I'm less of an HVAC guy than I am everything else..

any help appropriated. I hate having to look these things up, but thermostat controls!!

If you want to combine the heating/cooling into one thermostat, follow the 5 wire diagram. Cooling only follow the 3 wire diagram. You will have to have a working transformer in your air handler. 5 wire arrangement remove jumper between RC/RH.

that looks a lot better than what I've had to work with..
I'll poke my head into the knee wall in the morning and see if I can make heads or tails of it.

there are a couple wires heading down and out and the wires going to the thermostat and they meet up by the transformer were I can hardly get to them.
