Hello everyone. I have a fireplace in our family room that gets a bit drafty. The previous owners had a plexiglass cover to go over it when not in use. It has magnetic edges and the fire place opening has magnetic strips that are attached with double side foam adhesive. Has anyone seen these and or know where I can get replacement sections ?

The are pretty easy to make.

If you aren't using the chimney, a chimney balloon work great too.

Is a chimney balloon something that can be removed when needed and then replaced the next day when it cools down?

Yes.

If you use the chimney on a regular basis, I would look into the spring loaded top mounted caps. They are also pretty airtight and a bit more easy on/off.

Spring loaded tops ? Are those DIY installer friendly? Where could I find them? Thank you for the help.

If you are comfortable on your roof, they can be DIY.

Don't get up there if you have no business being up there.
