Hello, I am in the process of repairing an old A/C unit, and I realized that my filter drier was leaking refrigerant. I decided on purchasing a new filter online and having a technician install it for me, the only problem I am having is finding the right size filter drier.

The filter drier is mounted on the suction line, and going by the fittings described in the manual believe it should either be 5/8 or be 3/4 inches.

I am not sure if I have considered everything, so any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks.

The unit is a Carrier 38CE 002.

Suction filters are mainly used for system cleanup, and are not normally installed permanently. If it's leaking now, your discovering why they aren't intended for long term use on the suction line.
Is your system contaminated? Was it at one time?
