I'm trying to find a bright red as close to the one in the bathroom of the movie the shining. Any suggestions on finding the exact color?

Go to a Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore (or equivalent) store, bring the picture up on your phone and show it to an employee there. They might be able to match it for you.

That appears to be Formica laminate and counter tops from the period.

Look over a laminate catalog from the era, or maybe at a vest/apron store for very close matches for their current color name.

You can take a picture of that scene to some paint stores (I believe the big box stores can do this) and they can scan it and have a computer match the color for you.

Scanning a photo may not give you an accurate match to covey what was seen on the screen since it was one generation away for the actual due to printing. - It might be close enough.

I would go to a good paint store and see how close they have as far as a match because if you need to match or touch up in the future, you may may better to match.

Keep in mind the texture of finish on the wall will also affect the perceived visual effect. - Color of the light bulbs will also affect the appearance to you, so look at any samples in the room with the same lighting if you are critical.

Be careful about any people associated with the movie since the may read "redrum" as "murder". - Great movie with a perfect cast.
