I have fairly sandy soil, mixed with a fairly shallow water table.
I put the well in a couple of years ago and the sprinkler system 3-4years ago. In any case I've started having heads that aren't spraying as well....I pull the filter and of course they are looking a bit plugged, etc. A friend, that lives in area, told me he runs his system without the filters in the heads because they kept clogging up.
I started replacing filters, but ran out on a few, so went sans filter....any reason that is particularly a bad idea? Seems to me that what plugs the filters would easily pass through the head itself. For what it's worth most of my heads are the Rainbird 1804 pop-up heads.
