Wondering if anyone has ever used a filter of some sort on the water supply for a toilet.


I have no idea why, but one toilet in the house is getting enough sediment coming into the toilet to be a problem.


Getting a build up in the commode in one toilet, where the is none in the others.


Thought about try a under counter filter like is used on a sink.


Any thoughts?

We've never had one located there but we do have well water and a whole house filter because of that.

I do. But what's strange is that this one toilet is the only place in the entire house with this problem.


Sits on a slab so getting to the line to see if there's a problem is a problem. No way to install a whole house filter either, so I was thinking of maybe trying an undercounter filter mounted close to the back of the commode.

Just one more thing to have to do maintenance on.

How often is this toilet used?

If it is seldom used, that might be a sign that you have very hard water that is leaving deposits behind.


Or a child with dirty hands is washing off in this toilet.

Reminded me of the father who was being served tea by his toddler daughter, until he realized that she is too small to reach a sink.

Consider dropping a magnet in the tank to check if any of the sediment is magnetic.
