I have a "soon to be" old flue hole in my chimney. It's venting a gas fireplace which I no longer want there. So I'd like to fill that hole and create a hole in the floor below to add a wood stove.

The chimney has 3 flues with two being used. It's concrete with a terracotta lining (I believe it's 6x9 inches).

Anyway, I saw someone said to rent a core drill for adding a flue. How should I fill this existing hole? I'm pretty handy so I don't mind doing it but I want to do it right. Thanks in advance
