My driveway has gaps between the slabs that are in some cases up to 1” wide (see photo) and get a lot of grass growing up in them. I was thinking of putting some closed cell backer rods in the gaps and then caulking over the rods with self leveling sealant. Will this be the best way to full in the gaps or should I approach it differently?

Leveling cement won't work. Just pull the grass/weeds out. If you want to seal it you could try some backer and flexible urethane sealant. Here is what I will say...it will fail and pull away.

Thanks!! Will just leave it as it..cutting it out and pulling it only takes around 1/2 about twice a year.
