What is the best way to fill in a basement doorway with concrete blocks. I have a walkup basement doorway that I need to fill in. I live in the St. Louis area, could you give me some idea of the cost?

You've answered most of you're own question. You fill the opening with block. You figure how many block you need by the size of the door. Add to that the cost of the mortar mix and there you are.
If you're having it done, show the contractors the opening and they'll give you an estimate.
Cost to have it done will be dependent on where you are and the site situation.
