Greetings! Picture here shows retired oil burner exhaust from basement to chimney; no longer needed with furnace replaced w NG. Question is how to fill the two 8" holes in the foundation when I take out this rat shelter. I'm thinking just S-mortar nice and stiff. Thoughts, please - thanks much!

Probably OK.... I might also use dry-pack or hydraulic or about anything I had a partial bag of kicking around.....

Thanks, fellas.. partial bags i got. And a helluva lot cheaper than thimble-plugs.

Well that was too easy... just used the original V-band clamps, cut a couple of disks and it's Miller Time.
