Remodeling older kitchen, got the floor down to old tongue and groove wood. Plan on putting down 4x4 sheets of Fiberock then ceramic tile. To adhere Fiberock to wood floor, can I just screw it down or is it best to use an adhesive between old wood floor and Fiberock?

Do they make it 4*4? All I see is 3*5. Needs to be set in thin set. Must be nailed or screwed with the thinset.

Hold everything there will ha. An old kitchen with old tongue and groove wood means 4-6" wide planks to me, and if I'm right, you can not install your Fiberock direct to that, or any other CBU for that matter. You need to first install plywood or OSB.

If you'd like some advice to make sure you're heading down the right path, let's start with you telling us how the framing is built. Size of the joists, spacing, unsupported span. see if you can figure out the species and grade of the joists and tell us if they're in good condition.

Yes, underlayment grade comes in both 4x4 and 3x5 in ¼ & ⅜ thickness.

My advice, listen to JazMan. And I've learned that the cement board for under the tile is NOT structural in any way. It's counter intuitive, I know.
