Hi all,

I am having a fresh driveway put in and, it is a long story, but my neighbors are not good at keeping their kids out of my yard when it comes to the kids playing basketball, whiffleball. Yes, I have already talked to the neighbors and that won't matter. They don't do it on purpose, but you know how projectiles can end up easily in the yard.

Thus, I will put up a temporary barrier around the driveway once the concrete is poured. What would you guys do for such a temporary barrier? The red, curved line in the pix of "Driveway" shows roughly where the barrier would go.

The second pix shows materials for temporary fencing I got from Home Depot, to handle the grass edge of the driveway, what would you do for where the driveway meets the street? That is the yellow question mark in "Driveway". The barrier won't be perfect, but every bit helps.

diamond sawed control/contractions joints approx 5-8hrs after placing & finishing 8"-10" conc hwys/runways,,, we use 4' pieces of #4 (1/2") rebar for d/w's,,, dogs in fresh conc are a bigger problem,,, for some reason, fresh conc smells like beef bones to a dog :surprise:

Saw cut control joints are acceptable in your southern climate. For others in the frozen north, outside joints should be tooled, not cut.

idk - never did any d/w's in ny - sawcut miles on nys thruway & other ne i-states,,, if i had to guess, don't think the conc'd give a **** 1 way or the other as long's as its done at the right time,,, if tooled were preferred, dot's would've spec'd them instead of sawcut,,, interestingly enough, engineers don't know 'when' to cut/tool either,,, spec always read 'at proper time to control random cracking',,, even engineers wouldn't accept the responsibility
