Can you post a picture of your table so we can see it, too? Feather boards generally ride in the groove on either side of the blade.

This one was recommended to me by a friend woodworker, said its the best feather board he'd ever had. I haven't bought one to try it out yet though.

Featherboard helps with keeping your cut straight/clean too as I hear it.I would not worry about using feather boards, that motor does not have nearly enough torque to cause kickback.
