score it, let the rip hang over the pile, bend it down and snap it up.

If drywall not bone dry won't work and it's easier said than done.

Easier to score, bend it over and run your knife through the paper.

You are taling basic drywall?? 18" is simple. Score on the FRONT side. Stand on edge with the 30" edge to the bottom, hand on the top edge, pull t and put knee into middle of back. It will break along the front paper score line. At this point some will cut through the back paper by putting the blade of the knife from the front to the back. My preference is to lift the back up enough to get my hand and knife under and just cut the back paper one end to the other. Done and done. Your knife blade will be wicked sharp for many cuts since all you have cut is paper on both sides. If you try to score DEEPLY on the front, you will just wear out your blade and get the same result for an edge. Ron
