i don't need either, its just fence posts.

i saw that the fast set bags are nearly twice the price, and i wondered why.
and thought = if i can diy that myself, for a lot less cost, then "maybe" i would.

If you do use an accelerator, be very careful when mixing as you could cause a flash set, probably would be better if you don't use it, being it's only fence posts.

i have MORTON SAFE-T-MELT , safe for plants. its not flake, but it is small rocks. smaller than regular rock salt. i bought this assuming it was safer than salt, to use on my old PT front steps.

my understanding is that Calcium Chloride is not salt, is that right ?

I have used a lot of the foam for posts and love it. You can buy 4 gallons off Amazon for $150, kind of expensive but I am barb wire fencing my 26 acres, so getting concrete to all holes is very difficult, my skid steer can not even get to all the places needed. The foam is said to also seal the post from below ground rot. Getting the right amount mixed is a learning curve, it also depends on the air temperature for the rise of the mix. But it cures quickly and is rock solid.

I don't know why you would need fast setting mix? Do not add as much water and it will set very rapidly.
