Apologies in advance from a newbie with a number of questions. The blower motor on my boiler (I think it is a blower motor) is making a lot of noise so I think it needs to be replaced. It is a Fasco U26B1, type 70XX6078 (the two numbers represented by "X" have been scratched out, 3400RPM, 115V. I have attached a couple of pictures of the nameplate. I have been unable to find this motor on line so was hoping someone could tell me where to look or let me know of the correct replacement. Once I get the motor is it difficult to replace? I am handy but definitely not a pro, but I take good notes. Should I look to replace anything else while I am replacing the motor? Any and all advice is appreciated.

As far as I know the wholesalers and manufacturers only sell the motor and wheel/entire assembly as one unit. Reason being the fan will be baked/welded on from intense heat and even the tiniest bit of you bending it while taking it off will unbalance it. At 3400 rpm it will vibrate like crazy. Sometimes they don't come off and I have had to saw the shaft off on Carriers and put in a new wheel and motor on their older WAV series.

Pros just change the whole ventor fan as one unit.

Yeah, looks like you have to get the entire combustion blower, instead of just a motor.

download Fasco product catalog www.fasco.com -->Distribution

Complete units usually start with Axxx with x being numbers. Make sure motor specs match yours because you search by furnace manufacturer.

Once you know the induced draft fan/motor unit # you can google for best price. Best to replace as one for the novice.

In my case fan blades inside were plastic and become brittle and break. Any out of balance condition makes a racket. I was able to get just the blade replacement part (stamped on the plastic) and refurb my original unit as a backup as useful life was about 5 years for me. Biggest learning was that the nut holding the fan blade on threaded in the opposite direction to loosen.
