Faced or unfaced

1460 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  AllanJ
Confused a bit here, I put 2" XPS foam on some parts of my basement walls and 1" foam board on other parts. Now I'm confused if I should go with a faced or unfaced insulation to fill the framing in?

My issue is, the foam board is 6" short of the floor. I attached it this way so my dry cove and board butt flat up to one another and any water coming in from the wall will drain directly into my french drain.

I attached a picture showing the gray drainage cove.

Sorry.

Boston, MA

It is a concrete poured foundation basement 3/4 of the way in earth. 5 small basement windows that are brand new.

Major cracks were professionally injected and a interior french drain was installed as well. This included a sump pump, backup pump with a backup battery pumps to outside.
