Im wanting to add a seperate outlet out by my meter pole where the disconnect is. The service is run to a building where a main lug panel is that powers the lighting and receptacles. The disconnect is a 100A breaker where the service is connected. I'm wanting to know if I can just add a receptacle to the side of the disconnect and run the wire into the disconnect straight to the lugs where the main service cable connects or do I have to have a seperate breaker?

The receptacle unit must have breaker protection of 15 amps or less (20 amps or less if a duplex receptacle or a 20 amp rated receptacle or more than one receptacle).

I am not sure what kind of wiring is needed between the power source (100 amps exposure) and the box with the breaker for the receptacle(s). It would have to be at least 14 gauge for 15 amps.

You must use a breaker or fuses between the disconnect and the receptacle. This receptacle MUST be a GFCI receptacle, since it is located outdoors.

Question for the other contributors: Can he use the 10-ft or outside feeder tap rule here to feed a fused disconnect (20A) mounted on the pole next to the service disconnect using #12 conductors?

Mostly the lugs he would need to tap ate only rated for a single conductor.

So if I want a 30A camper receptacle I just run a #10/2 cable into the Disconnect(100A breaker) and connect it on one of the lugs that the power source to the building is already on(#2-2-2-4 URD)and it will be alright?

This is my setup. Disregard the smaller wires, it was a temporary power outlet. I will have a #2 Aluminum cable attached to each side of the breaker lug for the hots. What do I do as far as in this box with the cable going to the breaker that powers the camper outlet?
