I've replaced a few windows on my stucco ranch. I'm not too happy with how the brickmould trim turned out. I am thinking of removing the brickmould and doing just a 1x4 trim board instead. Do you guys have any recommendations on what to use? I was thinking maybe Cedar. This engineered LP Smartside looks pretty good too; but, what do you do to fill in screw holes since it is prefinished?

Thanks

If you put up something wider than the brickmold, are you going to cut the stucco?

I would look for some big galvanized finishing nails and caulk to match. Even though it's prefinished you will also end up with caulk where the vertical butts into the horizontal or vice-versa. Count on having to put a finish coat of paint onto it.
