Hi, we are planning a single storey extension at the rear of our 100 year old brick property. It will extend about 10ft. Ideally, we would like the roof of the new extension to Be able to securely accept a ladder to allow access to the upper elevation if needed For repairs at any time. Any suggestions?

Buy this accessory for your ladder. It rests on the roof, not on a gutter or wall. It extremely safe as it won't allow the ladder to twist. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Werner-Quick-Click-Ladder-Stabilizer-AC78/100658388

You may find a stabilizer appropriate. I did notice the angle he was actually using the ladder didn't seem to correspond very well with the extended arm angle tests early in the vid.

I like the way this one attaches.

I have the one mentioned in the video, but really like the advent of the quick release, as we sometimes have to move the "cow horns" and it is a PITA. The quick release is handy. I also have one for corners, which is neat when the long cow horns just won't work.

I can understand how the quick release would be a plus for contractors but i'd like to see 2 quick release / attach points spread apart as much as possible.
If you are talking about a roof shape slope other than a flat roof, one method is leg levelers.

It looks to me those would work well on certain stair wells also. Ours would be one.:thumbup1:
