I bought a Escalade ESV, I was aware of the garage was to short to fit the car. But I was considering a carport, but now I’m also thinking about having the garage extended by about 2 feet. The house is four years old so the structure is in great shape. I am in Poconos PA, what would you think the cost would be if done professionally? The driveway has since been paved.

u2slow has a good point. If you extend the back, likely you can just extend the roof on the same slope. It makes the back wall kind of short, and you may need a beam where the original back wall was. As long as it's high enough to be above the hood of that luxury tank you're parking in there, that's all you need, right?

I would com out the front with a gable roof

But a hip roof makes the gutter still work.

May have to move the old beam up under the rafters to make room for the door.

I suspect it's going to be a lot of cost to add on a measly 2 feet... Maybe consider adding a bit more - for a workbench area or something so you're getting something more for your money.

That said that's a lotta big boring roof you got there - a hipped gable, as Neal suggested, on the right side there would spice it up for more curb appeal.

Well I know PA is pretty nutty about certain codes. May not be an issue where you are. Could be easier, cleaner, even less money to just build a new structure for the beast. Or get an even bigger vehicle and park the house inside.
