Hello, I am new to this site and I am finishing my basement. I have a soffit built around my duct work in the basement and I need to extend the opening towards the floor about 12 inches. the duct is sheet metal. If you could help with detailed instructions that would be very helpful. I know nothing about duct work so simple terms will help.
