Yes, you can do that. The junction box must be kept accessible (not covered with drywall, etc.). It must be covered with a blank cover.
Extending BX cables
I'm going from point A to B with BX armored cable. But it's not long enough. I need another 25 feet. How can I extend it properly? Would it be proper to install a box just for extending the armored cable? There are no outlets or anything between A and B.
