We recently took out the wall between our living room and kitchen/dining room and replaced it with a 30' long W12x26. We're going to leave the beam itself exposed and paint it, but I'm wondering how to finish the beam ends. If we want the beam to 'dive' into the wall, we'll have to meticulously install plywood inside the web, drywall to that, etc, but I'm worried the edges will look rough.

Does anyone know of good beam end caps that will cover the I-beam at the ends without us having to cut a bunch of wonky pieces of plywood and drywall?

As for the rough edges that isn't a big deal to fix. I've cut the drywall and finished it as tight as I could and then caulked between the drywall and the beam.
